Vinyl Flooring Information

At Floors To Your Home, we welcome and encourage a dialogue with our customers to ensure a safer and healthier life for everyone. Your feedback – a question, a comment, even a simple click on social media- is a gift to us. Since questions are being asked about vinyl flooring, more specifically about a group of chemicals called phthalates, we want to address these issues directly.

Phthalates are a group of chemicals commonly known as ‘plasticizers.’ They make plastic materials softer and more malleable. “Phthalates are also used in cosmetics and personal care products, wood finishes, detergents, adhesives, plastic plumbing pipes, lubricants, medical tubing and fluid bags, solvents, medical devices, building materials, and vinyl flooring,” according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine.

In an effort to promote greener living, Floors To Your Home is taking stock of our inventory and moving forward to ensure there will be no phthalates present in any of the products we sell. At present, all of our loose lay vinyl floors as well as all of our virgin vinyl products are phthalates-free.

In today’s high spin, high speed world, it might be a cliché to say it’s up to all of us to do our part for conservation. Cliché or not, those words are more important than ever. At Floors To Your Home, we’re proud to do our part to preserve our planet for generations to come. Please don’t hesitate to call, chat, or email us with any questions or concerns.
